I am hearing about the "middle class" an awful lot these days.

Every time I hear the term my mind registers these questions:

Why the enormous political focus on the middle class?  Why does the lower class get less attention? How did the upper class get there?

Do we the people label each other by class as we interact throughout our lives?

What are our leaders saying to us when they extol the virtues of thriving in the middle class?

Does anyone dream of reaching the middle class?

Who among us get excited about average grades, teams, music, food, and vacations?

My best may be your average but that is the point.  We are individuals, not classes. 

I am trying to live my best life and I suspect you are to.  We would do well to define our path and not allow our leaders to define our class.

So, I want to know what your answers are to my questions.
